VCE SAC Writing and Assessing Workshop Day

Are you confident that your VCE Units 3 & 4 assessments are hitting the mark?
This hands-on, full-day professional learning workshop is designed to support VCE teachers in confidently designing, writing and assessing high-quality School Assessed Coursework (SACs) that align with VCAA expectations.
Through expert guidance and practical activities, participants will:
- gain a clear understanding of VCE assessment principles
- learn how to design and assess lower, middle and higher-order questions
explore what strong assessment items look like and common pitfalls
to avoid
- unpack the dos and don’ts of SAC writing
- practise marking SACs to improve consistency and confidence

Participants can choose to attend one of the following areas. Presenters are experienced and respected VCE educators and include:
- VCE Accounting: Darrell Cruse, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School
- VCE Business Management: Julie Cain, Consultant
- VCE Economics: Christopher Christies, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School

Work through past SACs and practice assessing them to improve your ability to recognise and judge quality response from your students.

Discover what makes a quality SAC including how to judge low, medium and high prompts in pre-pared SACs

Session 3
With a guided expert, write your own low, medium and high prompts, and create some SAC outlines that you can use with students as soon as you return to school.
