VCTA AGM & Awards Night

The 72nd VCTA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on:

Date: Wednesday 13 May 2026
Time: 6:30pm (Arrive from 6:00pm)
Venue: Parliament and Treasury Rooms, The Imperial Hotel, 2-8 Bourke Street, Melbourne

Further details including the AGM Advance Notice and Agenda are available on the VCTA website.

Following the AGM will be our VCTA Awards Ceremony, including a complementary canapes and drinks at our Networking and Social reception for those in attendance

All VCTA members are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP by Monday 11 May 2025 via our Microsoft Form to confirm your attendance.

Board of Directors 2026/27 Nominations Now Open

Nominations are now open to 12 Director positions for the 2026/27 term. Only financial VCTA Individual (Full) Members may nominate, propose, or second a nomination.

Nominations close at 4:00pm on Wednesday 15 April 2026.
If more than 12 nominations are received, a ballot will be conducted, with voting materials sent to members on Wednesday 22 April 2026.

Awards of Excellence at VCTA

Commencing in 2026, the VCTA Awards for Excellence will recognise the outstanding contribution of VCTA members to teaching commerce subjects and to the Association. We invite VCTA members to nominate exceptional teachers in the following categories:

Early Career Teacher
Innovative Curriculum
Integration of Digital Technologies
Leadership
Mentor
Metropolitan Teacher
Pre-Service Teacher
Rural or Regional Teacher

Annual VCTA Honours: Life Members and VCTA Medal

In addition to the new VCTA Awards for Excellence, we also invite nominations for two long-standing and highly respected honours: Life Membership and the VCTA Medal.

These awards recognise individuals who have made an exceptional and sustained contribution to commerce education and to the VCTA community over many years.

Save the Date! The VLF and Law Week is Coming to Bendigo!

As part of Victorian Law Week 2026 the Victoria Law Foundation will be running Bendigo Law Talks on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 May.

This free two-day program is aimed at Year 11 and Year 12 Legal Studies students and will include a visit to the Bendigo Courts and a talk by a County Court judge as well as the Juries Commissioner. There will also be presentations by Young Workers Centre, Victorian Law Reform Commission, the Victoria Ombudsman, Arc Justice and /Victoria Legal Aid. The talks cover a range of topics relevant to the curriculum and young people’s legal rights and responsibilities.
