BEA has launched a range of exciting events for 2026. All VCTA members have access to BEA information and resources at no additional cost, including:

University of Melbourne Preservice Teacher Placements

The University of Melbourne are actively seeking placements for their upcoming Semester 1 secondary rounds for:

  • First teaching placement: 20 April-15 May
  • Final teaching placement: 18 May-15June

Teacher Event: Media Literacy and Political Cartoons in the classroom

The Museum of Australian Democracy is excited to work with The Old Treasury Building to present an online Teacher Professional Development:Media Literacy and Political Cartoons in the classroom.

This online session will provide tips and resources to help teachers use political cartoons in the classroom to build students' media literacy skills. Join discussions about how to analyse cartoons with students, and how you can work with students to create their own cartoons as a way to use their voice on issues important to them.With special guest Fiona Katauskas.

Melbourne City Football Club VCE Units 3&4 Business Management Opportunity

During Unit 3 of this year, A-League soccer club Melbourne City FC is offering schools a complementary new “Applied Learning” experience – being a half-day facility tour and interaction with club staff – designed exclusively for Year 12 Business Management students.

Hosted at Melbourne City FC’s Casey Fields Campus, Cranbourne, the half-day session brings the VCE Unit 3 curriculum to life. Students will explore how an elite sporting organisation operates as part of a national competition, as well as being part of as a global business within the City Football Group network, which manages ownership of and investments in 12 football clubs worldwide, including Manchester City FC.

Sessions are delivered atno cost to schools, and will run on selected Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays acrossMarch, April and May in 2026, with numbers capped to ensure an engaging, hands-on experience.
