Business Educators Australasia (BEA) Biennial Conference
Melbourne, June 2026

BEA is inviting Expressions of Interest to present at the 2026 Business Educators Australasia Biennial Conference, to be held in Melbourne on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June 2026.

Conference Theme: Educate for Impact: Shaping Civic, Economic and Financial Futures

BEA is particularly seeking sessions that engage with:

  • Years 7–10 Economics and Business and Civics and Citizenship  teaching and learning
  • Economic & Financial literacy
  • Civics and citizenship education

National Curriculum Services (NCS)

Expression of Interest to attend National Schools Constitutional Convention 2026

Victorian Students are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to participate in the Australian Government Department of Education (DOE) National Schools Constitutional Convention (NSCC) 2026. The Convention is supported by the Department of Education, Victoria (DE) and coordinated by National Curriculum Services (NCS).

The Convention will be held on 24 - 26 March 2026 in Canberra at the Museum of Australian Democracy with the 23 & 27 March potentially being travel dates for regional students to ensure they arrived in Canberra on time and depart after the convention. Accommodation is at the Pavilion on Northbourne Hotel. All costs associated with flights, accommodation and meals are covered by the DOE.  

total of 25 students will be selected to attend from Victoria.

Students must be enrolled in Year 11 or 12 in 2026 to be eligible to apply.

VCE Economics

  • The RBA delivered an exam preparation webinar last week.  If your students missed out or they are wanting to view it again, a recording of the webinar will be posted on the RBA website soon!   
  • The RBA is seeking expressions of interest for a new best-practice secondary school teacher to join the Educators Advisory Panel.  This is a voluntary position. For further information, please email our Executive Officer, Michelle Mitchell who will send you more details. 

Expressions to join the Educators Advisory Panel should be sent to VCTA by Friday 24 October.

  • The Economics Society of Australia - Victorian Branch is launching a new animation designed by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The event will feature a screening of the animation, followed by a panel discussion, with educators, economists and community leaders. The discussion will focus on why we should encourage more First Nations students to pursue economics and how we can go about supporting them.
