VCTA Office Closure Dates in December & January

The VCTA Office will be closed from Monday 23 December through to Friday 3 January.  If you need to contact a staff member during this time, please leave a message and we will reply once the Office opens.


Comview24 - access to presentations and resources

All members who attended Comview24 should have received an email with links to the session resources last week.  If you did not receive this message in your inbox please let us know via the VCTA registration email. Some presenters are still updating presentations and resources post-Comview24 and once the updated files are received they will be loaded into the links provided.


VCTA Professional Learning in 2025

Do you have a new or returning teacher to VCE Accounting, Business Management, Economics or Legal Studies in 2025 in your school? 

VCTA is offering a professional learning event to help new and returning teachers to master their VCE subject.  To register a teacher and to find out more follow this link to Empowering Commerce Educators: Building Your VCE Toolkit professional learning day in February 2025.

Details of additional professional learning events for 2025 will be posted on the VCTA Homepage over the next few weeks as the dates and times are locked in. 


VCTA - New Scholarship Opportunity for Early Career Teachers - closes this Friday

In honour of Jules Aldous, the VCTA Board and Staff are pleased to announce a new scholarship opportunity in 2025: The Jules Aldous Professional Learning Scholarship

The scholarship will be offered to one early-career teacher in 2025 and covers the cost of registration at all VCTA professional learning activities relevant to the teacher's subjects listed in the successful application. 

Jules was a highly regarded and long term individual member of VCTA. She served on the VCTA Board for many years and was a passionate advocate for early career teachers as well as teachers with many years of experience. She achieved much enjoyment through her mentoring work with VCTA and was her sessions at various events were always well attended.

National Schools Constitutional Convention - Update on VIC Application for 2025

Please be advised that the Expression of Interest (EOI) for Victorian students to attend the 2025 National Schools Constitutional Convention (NSCC) will open shortly.

All applications will need to include contact details (emails and phone numbers) for all students and all adult support personnel during the application period, which will include school holidays. Interested applicants are also reminded that the EOI form will require the signature of the School Principal or their Designated Proxy (electronic signature and form submissions are accepted).

The following is the tentative timelines for the Victorian application process:

  • Early to mid-December 2024: VIC Student EOI opens
  • Wednesday 5 February 2025: Student EOI to close
  • Week of 10 February 2025: Students & schools will be notified of the results.  Successful students will be given a set of forms that need to be completed by themselves, parents/carers and the School Principal or their Designated Proxy.
