VCTA - New Scholarship Opportunity for Early Career Teachers in 2025

In honour of Jules Aldous, the VCTA Board and Staff are pleased to announce a new scholarship opportunity in 2025: The Jules Aldous Professional Learning Scholarship

The scholarship will be offered to an early-career teacher who is an individual member and covers the cost of registration at all VCTA professional learning activities in 2025 relevant to the teacher's subjects listed in the successful application. 

Jules was a highly regarded and long term individual member of VCTA. She served on the VCTA Board for many years and was a passionate advocate for early career teachers as well as teachers with many years of experience. She achieved much enjoyment through her mentoring work with VCTA and was her sessions at various events were always well attended.

New Appointment: VCTA Accountant

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Lucas as the new Accountant for the VCTA. Stephen, a CPA with extensive experience in membership organisations, not-for-profits, and startups, will officially join us from today. We extend our sincere thanks to Mary Rowe for her dedicated service since 2019 as our VCTA Accountant, and we wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.

Global citizenship and sustainable development through skilled volunteering - Survey

Palms Australia is a not for profit organisation that offers global citizenship and sustainable development through skilled volunteering.  They are seeking feedback from teachers about their understanding of skilled volunteering.  The survey takes 5 - 10 minutes and will help to form new professional development programs for teachers and schools in this area.
